Pre-Pregnancy Care

Dr. Chenelle Roberts  and Dr. Nichole Burns provide pre-pregnancy care.  As a family naturopathic physicians, they believe in supporting women towards optimal health prior to pregnancy.  Your first visit will include a review of your medical and gynecological history, diet, supplements and prescriptions, a complete physical examination and initial laboratory blood work.  Any previous lab work and pertinent medical history from other providers will be requested.  A follow-up visit will be scheduled to review your labs and medical records and make specific diet, supplement recommendations for your optimal conception. Some women will additionally want guidance on timing for conception. Both physicians have clinical experience in natural family planning and are happy to review your charts or teach you how to track your cycles for ideal timing if desired.

Natural Family Planning

Natural family planning involves charting your menstrual cycle, morning basal body temperature and cervical mucus.  This information can provide invaluable information about your hormone levels and ovulation pattern.  It can also help your practitioner counsel you regarding ideal timing for natural intercourse or planned inseminations.  Your naturopathic physician may make recommendations for changes in your diet, prescribe vitamins, minerals or herbs, request additional lab work, prescribe medications or make a referral based on this information. We are happy to teach you how to chart your cycles or interpret your charts if you'd like some guidance.

On-call insemination services are available including ICI (intracervical insemination) and IUI (intrauterine insemination).  These services are commonly not covered by insurance.  It is common to recommend two inseminations per cycle within 24 hours.  Prior to scheduling for ICI or IUI a minimum of two visits will be requested to review pertinent medical history, labs and charting.
